Kips Bay Decorator Show House

This is the 44th year of the Kips Bay Decorator Show House here in New York City.  The proceeds from this event goes to the Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club in the Bronx to provide after school and enrichment programs to more than 10,000 kids.  Each year a town house is chosen, usually on the upper east side of Manhattan, along with talented interior designers to decorate different rooms throughout the home.  There are also designers chosen to decorate the stairwell, foyer, hallways and basically every nook and cranny within the space.  The town house this year is named The Carlton House and has an indoor area of approximately 10,000 square feet and 5,000 square feet of outdoor space (if you add up the different terraces and the rooftop). This was my first year going and I loved it! There were so many different styles and designs to see, it really was a feast for the eyes!

I started on the ground level and worked my way up the five stories of indoor/outdoor living space enjoying every square inch of the home.  Sit back and enjoy my favorites!

The design on the walls and ceiling are all hand drawn with chalk!  Can you believe it?  It's even more incredible in person.

Not sure why the title of this room has the word library in it.   There were no books around in this big, beautiful bedroom.  I love that large white mirror on the wall!

This is a roof top deck I wouldn't mind coming home to every evening!  There is also a grill and dining area.

This is actually a small area at the foot of the staircase.  I love every single thing in this tiny space, (except for the mystery mound on the chair... I guess that's a sure way to keep people from sitting on the furniture ; )

This is another nook/hallway area in front of the elevator.  Oh yeah, this multilevel town house has an elevator.

I left The Decorator Show House completely inspired.  There was so much to see!  If you are in NYC and love interior design definitely go!  It's open until June 9, 2016.  Enjoy...
